Ministry of Finance to Perform the Function of Agency State Treasury of Precious Metals and Precious Stones

According to the law on Precious Stones, the State Treasury of Precious Metals and Precious Stones is an agency being a separated subdivision of the public financial management authorized body. By the law on Regulation of the Management Legal Relations, in the state body structure, among other units, only the structural sub-units can be involved, and in cases designed by legislation – also the offices. That is, the executive body has not designed ‘agency’ structural unit in the state management system bodies.

The package of drafts proposes to comply the status of the agency State Treasury of Precious Metals and Precious Stones with the requirements of the RA legislation, ensuring the efficiency of public administration.

At NA July 6 extraordinary session, the RA Deputy Minister of Finance Armen Hayrapetyan presented for debate the legislative package envisaging amendments to the law on Precious Metals and Criminal Procedure Code.

In response to the clarifying question of the deputy Sergey Bagratyan, the Deputy Minister informed that there will not be an agency, the Ministry of Finance will perform the function through its structural subdivisions.

The member of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Narek Grigoryan proposed the MPs to vote for the initiative.
